Alila Ubud
Summary
Having served as Bali’s centre for traditional arts and culture since the early 1900s, Ubud is renowned as a haven for artists and intrepid travellers alike. In addition to the creative energy that seems to permeate its very streets, Ubud is also famous for its spectacular natural scenery. Located five kilometres from Ubud centre in the traditional hill village of Payangan, Alila Ubud offers its guests easy access to the town’s cultural delights, whilst also capitalising on the beauty of its surrounding rice terraces and hillside plantations. A secluded retreat comprised of 56 rooms perched upon stilts set into the lush hillside, Alila Ubud blends luxuriously modern architecture with design accents inspired by traditional Balinese culture. It is the astonishing panoramic views of the Ayung River Valley afforded by its elevated mountain location, however, that constitutes this boutique hotel’s greatest attraction.
