Summary

Luang Prabang is the oldest town in Laos and is now a World Heritage Site - enjoy it from the comfort of this former royal residence which is now part of the Belmond group. Set in lush tropical gardens and with spectacular views of the nearby mountains, the hotel provides peace and tranquillity after a day's sightseeing of the wats and temples - it even has its own liveried tuk-tuk to take guests the short distance into town.

Best time to go

The best time to visit is in Spring and Autumn. Luang Prabang’s wet season stretches from July to September, but even then rainfall isn’t prolific. In the winter temperatures can dip to an average of 16 degrees in the coldest month of January.

The Doc Champa Bar - Relax in the laid-back open-air lounge of the Doc Champa Bar with a pre-dinner cocktail or post-dinner liqueur. The sophisticated bar offers an ideal opportunity to stay indoors with friends or admire the beautiful sunsets from outside. The Doc Champa Bar is open daily from 1 to 11pm.

Five Hundred Candle Dinner - Delight in an unforgettable dining experience with the intimate Five Hundred Candle Dinner. Savour the flavours of Laotian cuisine with a distinctly French accent from the days when Luang Prabang was at the heart of Indochina. Set in the UNESCO Heritage garden, the soft light and intimate mood create a romantic experience never to be forgotten.

Junior Suites - With either king size or twin beds, the junior suites offer luxurious finishes and comfort. Suites include a sofa and coffee table and a spacious bathroom with terrazzo bath.
