Summary
Embraced by an ancient rainforest on the northwestern tip of the island of Langkawi, lies The Datai. An exclusive, romantic hideaway that is bordered by a perfect white-powered sandy beach on the shores of the Andaman Sea. The Datai’s 121 rooms, suites and villas, all with enchanting views of the lush tropical rainforest, some with the breathtaking vista of the Andaman Sea with Tarutao Island on the horizon, are all spacious with a soothing design that is a perfect blend of local materials and contemporary clean designs. The rooms all have large bedrooms, living areas and private verandas featuring exposed beams, dark teak floors and bamboo screens. Food is delectable, served in a choice of four restaurants, offering dishes from across the globe. The Dining Room serves perfectly pitched Malaysian and Western cuisine, whereas the Pavilion cooks up authentic Thai treats. At the rustic-chic restaurant the Gulai House, Malay and Indian dishes are served whilst for romantic alfresco dinners, opt for a private candlelit dinner on the beach. There are killer cocktails served in the lobby bar, which is adult-only after 8 pm.
There is a great variety of activities on offer at The Datai: all sorts of watersports - motorised and non-motorised, plus tennis courts and a championship golf course. Despite having every modern amenity available to you, you are never far away from the wilds of the jungle and centuries-old pristine rainforest. There are lakes, caves and waterfalls on your doorstep, and a master guide and Naturalist, Irshad Mobarak, will fill you to the brim with knowledge on this incredible landscape. There is also a Spa with expertly-trained therapists offering a vast array of treatments and programmes, including Lembut massages and a Ramuan ritual.

Just 40 minutes’ drive from Langkawi International Airport, set on the north-western tip of the lush tropical island of Langkawi, The Datai Langkawi is truly an oasis of tranquillity.
Best time to go
September and October are considered the rainy season with April to August having some rains also. The high season is considered to be January to March because it is the dry season, however tourists begin flowing in around November in anticipation of nice, sunny weather.

The Gulai House - This rustic restaurant creates the atmosphere of a traditional Malay kampong house. The restaurant uniquely celebrates native customs, with traditionally dressed waiting staff that will greet you with a native pre-meal hand-wash ritual, as well as Malay and Indian dishes served on banana leaves and handmade ceramic bowls.
The Dining room - In the mornings The Dining Room holds a vibrant breakfast buffet, and in the evenings it becomes a romantic restaurant with all the trimmings of fine dining.
The Pavilion - Overlooking the Andaman Sea on 30 meter high stilts, The Pavilion is a relaxed eatery with calming Thai music, white orchid arrangements and the dancing light of candles. The Pavilion is known for its exquisite Thai cuisine.
The Beach Club - If you are looking for a poolside lunch, then The Beach Club is perfect. With an a la carte Mediterranean menu, and imaginative evening buffets, The Beach Club is the ideal place to enjoy good food and relax whilst enjoying impeccable views.
The Lobby Lounge - During the day The Lobby Lounge serves delicious light snacks, and in the evenings it becomes a chic place that shows live music and serves refreshing cocktails and delicious canapés.

CANOPY EXPERIENCE
Deluxe Rooms - The Deluxe Rooms consist of a combined bedroom and living room, a stylish bathroom and a large balcony.
Premium Rooms - The Premium Rooms are similar to the Deluxe Rooms but instead they are situated on the top level of the main building providing you with a brilliant balcony view.
End Suites - These suites consist of a separate living and dining area, a sizable bedroom with en-suite bathroom, and a plush daybed that can also be used as bed for children.
Corner Suites - The Corner Suites are similar to the End Suites but they are slightly smaller with a an angled balcony that hosts a stunning 180 degree view of the surrounding area.
The Datai Suite - This luxurious suite is perfect for families with children, with its extensive living and dining area, stylish and well equipped kitchen, an expansive balcony that allows you to enjoy the panoramic views form every possible angle.
RAINFOREST EXPERIENCE
Superior Villas - Located along a peaceful rainforest stream these enchanting villas exude a quaint rustic charm. The villas consist of a combined bedroom and living area, with a large bathroom.
Pool Villas - The Pool Villas offer guests the epitome of luxury and privacy. Each villa has a stylish shielded patio, as well as a stunning plunge pool with a Jacuzzi.
Pool Suite - Constructed around a private swimming pool with a large stylish sundeck, and situated close to the beach, the Pool Suites are a perfect getaway for family and friends. Every two suites are connected by shielded walkways, and share vast living and dining spaces with a stylish kitchen.
BEACH EXPERIENCE
Beach Villa (1 Bedroom) - These villas are new to The Datai, and demonstrate the epitome of stylish, contemporary luxury accommodation. Located on the magnificent Datai Bay, the Beach Villas are encircled by crisp blue waters and set against the vibrant ancient rainforest. They consist of an outdoor garden, a private rain shower, bedroom, a living room, an open plan living/dining area, a 10 metre private pool and a magnificent sun deck. Each beach villa has its own butler.
Beach Villa (2 Bedroom) - This villa is similar to Beach Villa (1 bedroom), but with two bedrooms (one room with a plush king-size bed, and one room with twin beds), and a stunning 15 metere pool with an impressive sundeck. Perfect for families or a close group of friends.
THE VILLA HUTAN EXPERIENCE
Villa Hutan Datai - This expansive villa is separated from the main resort area, and is located on a hillside among the rainforest. The property has four separate bedroom pavilions, as well as a living pavilion, a dining area, an alfresco bar and a swimming pool with a stylish sundeck. This lavish villa offers its guests very well built communal and private areas, and is perfect for large parties, or family getaways.
