October right through to May is the best time to visit, temperature for this period is at an average of 25°C. Monsoon season is from June to September.

Our thoughts

Thande Beach Hotel is the best kept hotel along this stretch of beach. It is centrally located on a beautiful section of the beach, which allows you to walk either north or south for exploration. This is a great spot to choose as even during high season the beach remains uncrowded. The food is local and tasty, the rooms well maintained and the grounds beautifully kept.

You can enjoy a variety of delicious cuisines including Chinese, Thai, European, Myanmar and traditional Rakhine cuising from the two restaurants at Thande Beach. The Pon-Nyet-Yeik restaurant is the outdoor restaurant with beautiful views of the ocean, and the Shwe-War-Chaing restaurant provides indoor dining.

The Thande Beach Hotel has 38 deluxe bungalow-type rooms, all with air conditioning. The spacious rooms have private terraces overlooking view of the Bay of Bengal and are elegantly furnished with polished teak and rattan furniture, fine fabric and traditional Burmese handicrafts.
