Cooking at Grain in Ho Chi Minh City
Exploring a country’s sights is undoubtedly the highlight on a traveller’s itinerary, however thinking back to your last holiday – what was it actually that struck a chord and made your trip so memorable?
It’s the experiences we have along the way that create those special moments that we remember and hold dear. We firmly believe that experiencing the cuisine of a country is a fundamental part of immersing yourself in the culture and traditions of the place you are visiting. We caught up with Ho Chi Minh City’s trendy Grain cooking class to see why travellers are including this cultural culinary experience as a ‘must-do’ when visiting Vietnam.
Designed by celebrity Chef Luke Nguyen, the cooking studio brings his professional approach to the city’s only high quality cooking studio. This is definitely not your everyday cooking class – combining the fundamentals of food preparation and presentation with the array of delicate and aromatic flavours that make up Vietnamese cooking; Grain aims to inspire and excite the pallet while taking students through the journey of culinary learning.
Chef Luke enjoys bringing the essence of Vietnamese dishes to students and includes the various historic and cultural nuances of dishes as they learn. The interactive, hands-on approach allows students to gain confidence and gives them the tools to create their own beautiful four course meal from start to finish. Budding chefs select their ingredients from the fully loaded pantry and make use of their own custom-made cooking products, all created and designed to feel part of a household. Whilst cooking schools abound in Vietnam, it is fair to say none match the quality, style and professionalism of Grain.
Grain’s cooking classes last approximately 3-hours and can be booked as either morning or afternoon sessions from Monday to Saturday, with pre-arranged classes led by Chef Luke available on request.
