Days 1 - 3: The Peninsula, Bangkok (BB)
Experience luxury on the banks of the Chao Phraya River at The Peninsula Bangkok, where you will be spending your first 3 nights. This opulent hotel consistently wows guests with its sense of calm in the middle of the bustling city, as well as its charming Thai hospitality.
Bangkok is one of the most exciting cities in Southeast Asia if not the whole world and is full of fun and interesting things to do both day and night. Visit the different cultural sites such as the many beautiful temples that are scattered about, delight in sampling delicious Thai cuisine, have a wander round one of the lively night markets – there won’t be a dull moment in your 3 nights spent here.
Days 4 - 6: Villa Maly, Luang Prabang (BB)
After a busy few days in Thailand’s capital slow down the pace and head to Laos and specifically Villa Maly, an intimate boutique hotel set amongst tranquil gardens in Luang Prabang. A regal hotel that was once home to royalty, you’ll still find a sense of grandeur present throughout that ensures you will enjoy a truly opulent stay.
A serene town, Luang Prabang is known for its immense beauty and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With the winding Mekong flowing through the region, remnants of beautiful French architecture and temples found here and there, the joy of visiting Luang Prabang comes from getting out and exploring all the wonderful sites it has to offer.
Day 7: Green Park Boutique Hotel, Vientiane (BB)
After spending some time in Luang Prabang, head to Vientiane, the capital city of Laos where you will be staying at the luxurious Green Park Boutique Hotel. To enter Green Park is to feel as though you have entered a bygone era, with it exuding elegance and nostalgia thanks to its original antique furniture and wonderful collections of art.
Most famous for its temples, most notably the grand golden Pha That Luang which is the most important national monument in Laos, there are plenty of interesting cultural sights to be explored in the nation’s tranquil capital. Make sure you also find time to enjoy a lazy lunch at one of the many cafes or bakeries that Vientiane is known for.
Days 8 - 9: Vat Phou Cruise, Mekong (FB)
A visit to Southeast Asia wouldn’t be complete without a trip on the Mekong, so your next few nights will be spent on the Vat Phou Cruise. This magnificent teak barge that drifts lazily down the Mekong allowing you to take in all the delightful sights and sounds of Laos that surround you. While on the cruise you will also have the chance to enjoy different excursions and activities such as village visits which will help you get to know Laos better. Overnight you will stop at a traditional Laotian lodge which offers an authentic experience that will help you to connect even more with your destination.
Day 10: Residence Sisouk, Pakse (BB)
Your final stop in Laos is Pakse, the second most populous city in the country. For your final night, you will be staying at The Residence Sisouk, a hotel full of history and memories that were a real family home until not too long ago. Looking out across the Sedone river where the mouth flows into the Mekong, the location of this hotel is truly beautiful.
Another sleepy riverside town, Pakse is best for relaxing riverside with a drink in hand and a few delicious plate of Laotian cuisine to dine upon, the perfect way to round off your holiday before departure.
