Introducing chef Daniel Hoyer
6/5/2015,
Author, tour leader and chef, Daniel Hoyer, is the definition of a foodie. He has thirty years of experience as a professional chef and has assisted in the start-up of a number of restaurants around the world. Based in Hanoi, Daniel has written four cookbooks – the latest being Culinary Vietnam, which was released in 2009. Culinary Vietnam teaches how the aspects of flavour, aroma, texture, colour and even the sound a food makes should be taken into consideration in the planning of a Vietnamese meal.
Daniel Hoyer’s passion for cooking began during his preschool years when he attentively assisted his grandmothers in the kitchen. As a consultant and executive chef, Daniel has assisted in the start-up of restaurants in such widely scattered locales as Sydney, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Oaxaca. He was also the representative of The Santa Fe School of Cooking where he taught recreational cooking classes, developed menus and provided training for the London-based, Southwestern style restaurant chain, Santa Fe. Daniel Hoyer continues to write, teach cooking classes and leads gastronomic tours in Vietnam, Southeast Asia and Mexico.
We are delighted to work with Daniel on our gourmet Vietnamese tours, he has an invaluable insight into the local food scene and is the man in the know in Vietnam.
