Mandarin Oriental Bangkok Renovates
3/18/2016,
The Mandarin Oriental Bangkok, a hotel already known for its opulence, has recently undergone a renovation that has further secured its position as one of the most luxurious hotels in Bangkok, if not the whole of Thailand.
The update has focused on the historic Authors’ and Garden wings, adding new facilities and restoring the property to its original grandeur. Included in the project was the addition of 12 new suites to the Garden Wing, each with their own balcony. These 80 square-metre suites will offer guests a lounge, dining room, pantry, powder room, and a bedroom with an adjoining large marble bathroom and walk-in closet, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the stunning Chao Phraya River and gardens.
As well as the Garden suites, another addition has been made in the Authors’ Suite in the form of the impressive Grand Royal Suite. It is claimed by the hotel that this new Grand Royal Suite will be one of the most luxe in the whole of Bangkok, boasting six bedrooms spread across 600 square metres of space. Spread across the entire first floor of the wing, the suite also enjoys its own private elevator.
The improvements haven’t just been limited to guest rooms, and foodies will be pleased to hear that the French fine dining restaurant Le Normandie has also seen some changes, with a new wine cellar that features a variety of Old and New World vintages, and the return of the customised dessert trolley. Even the décor has seen an update, with some stunning new features being added including handcrafted chandeliers to hang over you as you dine.
