See Singapore’s Landmarks Transform by Night

In Singapore’s arts and cultural precincts, selected landmarks are illuminated with art installations as part of the annual Singapore Night Festival that began this Friday. 

As the festival cumulates in its final weekend from August 29 to 31 2019, we have put together a few crowd favourites from the 17-night installations to catch. 

1. French artists Spectacularies’ decked out the facade of the National Museum of Singapore with a light installation featuring the floral adventures of three mysterious characters in a fantasy wonderland.

2. The museum’s Banyan Tree is also the centrepiece of a second light installation based on the Sanskrit poem, The Legend of Ramayana, is symbolised through a mix of sound, light and scenography. The projection also features a live gamelan performance. 

3. For the first time. CHIJMES was featured in an installation, Waves of Time, by Singapore animation company Chips & Toon, which depicts the journey of a prince fighting through the seas to chase his dream.

4. Another installation being S.C.U.L.P.T by Yann Nguema at the Armenian Church. At this place festival-goers can use a laser beam to reshape the chevet of the church, accompanied by a soundscape created by EZ3kiel.
