Hotel Tugu Lombok

Summary

When he built Hotel Tugu Lombok, founder Anhar Setjadibrata hoped to resurrect the art, soul and romance of Lombok’s past. As such, this hotel is part luxury accommodation option, part art gallery and museum. Doubling as an exhibition space for Setjadibrata’s staggering collection of Indonesian antiques and artworks, Hotel Tugu Lombok allows its guests a rare insight into forgotten aspects of the island’s traditional culture. Situated on the secluded, untainted shores of Sire Beach on Lombok’s northwest coast, the hotel also stands as a testament to this often-overlooked destination’s natural heritage. It is a haven defined by sparkling waters and whispering palms, and it is this heady combination of scenic beauty and cultural authenticity that makes a stay at Hotel Tugu Lombok so exceptional.

  Dining

Bale Kokok Pletok Restaurant - Surrounded by the hotel’s lush gardens and serene lotus ponds, this rustic open-air restaurant simultaneously boasts breathtaking ocean views. The menu at Bale Kokok Pletok features fine international and Asian dishes, in addition to the authentic Indonesian cuisine for which Lombok is famous.

Lara Djonggrang Bar - Featuring hundred year old wooden furniture, beautiful artworks, and a long teak bar lit by oil lamps, Lara Djonggrang is a chicly primitive venue with an impressively-stocked wine cellar.

Hotel Tugu Lombok also offers its guests several unique destination-dining experiences, which take place throughout the hotel property. Possible dining venues include a two-hundred year old reconstructed temple, or a decadent bamboo bed located on the white sands of Sire Beach.

Kampong Lombok Bungalows -  Designed in the style of a native Lombok village house, these intimate units offer a traditional atmosphere complimented by all the trappings of modern luxury living.

Kampong Ampenan Bungalows - Similar in size and amenities to the Kampong Lombok Bungalows, these guest rooms celebrate the island’s largely forgotten Peranakan culture with artworks and design details reminiscent of Lombok’s Chinese settlers.

Aloon-Aloon Garden Villas - These sumptuous suites are individually situated amidst the hotel’s lush grounds. In addition to a serene private garden, each one includes an outdoor dining and living space, and a bathroom complete with an over-sized sunken bathtub.

Aloon-Aloon Rama Sinta Villas - These unique suites face onto an open-air hall filled with giant Rama Sinta statues and surrounded by beautiful tropical trees. Each one boasts a private terrace, an outdoor dining area, and a semi-outdoor bathroom complete with a separate bathtub and rain shower.

Bhagavat Gita Oceanfront Suites - Housed in an elegant colonial-era building that directly overlooks the ocean, these spacious suites feature high thatched ceilings, a tropical garden and lotus pool, and a private plunge pool that boasts spectacular views of the adjacent beachfront.

Sang Hyang Nirvana and Jagatnata Villas - Offering 600 square metres of space, the Sang Hyang Nirvana and Sang Hyang Jagatnata Villas are situated on the beach, just a few metres from the ocean. Both villas feature a large private plunge pool, a jacuzzi, a spacious sundeck and a garden big enough for hosting private functions.

Puri Dadap Merah Villas - Inspired by the architecture of Lombok’s ancient temples, this luxuriously appointed villa offers exquisite garden and ocean views. It boasts a large private plunge pool, a private spa and massage area, and an astonishing array of Indonesian antiques and artworks. The highlight of this villa is its rooftop dining area.
