Sri Lanka has generally good weather year round but does have two monsoon seasons in two different regions. From late May to late September, the southwest lowlands and central hills are affected and from November to February, the northeast side of the island is affected. March to mid-April is generally dry throughout the country as is June to September though it is hot.
Our thoughts
This resort is a lavish tropical beach hideaway separated from the beach by a beautiful coconut grove with lily ponds and spacious suites. Each suite features handcrafted floor tiles, a four poster bed, and high ceilings lined with Kerala tiles. The property is only a ten minute ride via a local tuk tuk from the nearest town.

The resort has two state of the art restaurants offering international and Sri Lankan cuisine, one by the pool and the other al fresco.
Olu (Lily Pond Suite)
This bedroom is on the ground floor and revels in privacy among the foliage and flowers with antique doors leading to a shaded veranda overlooking a lily pond. A private courtyard with a private sunken mosaic-tiled spa bath and hand-hewn granite waterfall shower add to the relaxation opportunities of this room.
Manel (Main House Suites)
This suite is the second largest suite in the villa and is on the first floor of the main house. The suite offers seclusion and is ideal for those seeking privacy. It features timber slatted doors, a spacious raised teak veranda with chairs and coffee table overlooking the gardens, pool, and Indian Ocean as well as a walk-in dressing room, dressing table, antique mirror, and a private walled tropical garden with a hand-hewn granite waterfall shower.
Nelum (Main House Suites)
This elegant suite is the largest suite in the villa and is on the first floor of the main house. The suite offers seclusion and is ideal for those seeking privacy. It features timber slatted doors to a spacious raised teak veranda with chairs and coffee table overlooking the gardens, pool and the Indian Ocean. This suite has a further extensive raised Burma teak veranda running along the entire north side of the suite overlooking the pond and its teeming wildlife, as well as a large walk in dressing room with spacious armoires, dressing table with antique mirror and two luggage racks.
Namal (Ocean Suites)
This suite features a large spacious shaded veranda for private dining and relaxation, a beautiful antique Indian swing, and comfy chairs and coffee table. The suite has a pond in front and stepping stones to the verdant gardens, the swimming pool, the beach and the sparkling blue Indian Ocean as well as a large walk in dressing room with spacious armoires, dressing table with antique mirror and two luggage racks. The suite's bathroom opens to a private walled tropical garden with a hand hewn granite waterfall shower.
Sepalika (Ocean Suites)
This suite has a large spacious shaded veranda for private dining and relaxation, a beautiful antique Indian swing and comfy chairs and coffee table.
